Meet Prakash Yadav

“It’s easy to fix a child’s bone. What’s most important is to mend a child’s heart and mind.”

Born and raised in a mud hut in Eastern Nepal, Prakash Yadav understands the experience of growing up poor in rural Nepal. The family of five had one quilt made out of sacks and they struggled living hand-to-mouth. His mother couldn’t cook on rainy days because the mud would melt and drip into the house.

Hard working and entrepreneurial, Prakash went to Kathmandu to earn money. Quickly recognized for his intelligence he got full scholarships for a Health Assistant course followed by a Bachelor of Public Health degree. Luckily for HRDC, Prakash applied to become an HRDC Social Mobilizer in 2011. His contributions were so significant that Dr. Ashok Banskota and Dr. Bibek Banskota supported his Master of Public Health study in Belgaum.

In 2016, Prakash stepped into the role of Hospital Manager and Chief Administrator, overseeing the hospital staff of 150. His dedication and love for HRDC are palpable and he is cherished by the staff.
